Da Vinci

Ok so call me a sucker for a pathetically easy target.  All the hype for the past two weeks is "The Da Vinci Code".  Why?  Don't ask me!  I read the book and, quite frankly, found it to be theologically weak in it's attack of Christianity with a plot that would have been boringly predictable had it not been for the voyeruist peeks into the "hidden" seasonal Celtic celebrations of sex.  My conclusion after reading it was that it was written by a male wiccan, excommunicated Catholic, who suffered from uterine envy and had an axe to grind with the Catholic church.  WHY?  I have no idea but there was something disturbingly Freudian about that book in a very twisted way.

My problem with the whole Da Vinci Code thing is not so much the movie but the reaction of the Christian community to it.  Everybody panics and says they have to come up with a "cohesive reaction" to it.  My question to that is "Why? " I mean this movie is really no less offensive to what Jesus taught than most other movies on the market today and probably less so because one of the biggest things Jesus taught us to do was to question!  He questioned EVERYTHING in the world that surrounded him and the church is having a fit because someone is questioning Jesus?  You know what people?  The greatest thing I look forward to in heaven is being able to sit down with my Lord and ask Him all of the questions it's taken me a lifetime to store up!   For real!  That's what my heaven is about!

God created humans with minds.  He gave us  the ability to question Him.  He even enjoys  it when we do!  Don't believe me?  Read the Bible.  Look at Abraham asking God if He's going to wipe out Soddom and Gamorah if there are still 10 good men left in it.  Look at Moses asking God if He was really sure that He wanted to send Moses to save Isreal.  Open the Book!  Read what it says for yourself!  All  through that Book is the story of man questioning God.   NOAH!  You don't think he had questions?  He didn't even know what an ark was!  HA!  David?  He had not just more than a few questions about Bathsheba.  And then there's Solomon...the author of the most questioning book of the Bilble!

Go for it, Gang.  Pick that sucker up and tell me where there aren't questions!  I can tell you that there isn't a book in that entire tome where there aren't.  I can also tell you that in the relationship that is started there that every question that is asked in it is answered with RELATIONSHIP!  Go ahead and ask!  PLEASE ASK!  In the asking you will begin looking.  In the looking, you will find your answers.  Doesn't matter who you are.  Doesn't matter what you've been through.  Most of you have not been through what I have anyway.  If I can say that I am answered in this book, who are you to question THAT?  LOOK and you will see that something as miniscule as a movie made in Hollywood isn't enough to discredit the faith!  Truely Christian people know better.

God bless!
