I love my garden.  I think it's my favorite place to be in the summer, especially when my Star Gazer Lillies are blooming.  I put it in when my husband was on the homeland security deployment.  It's the back drop for the flagpole I put in then too.  I haven't been able to get out there much this year because of the treatment, but today has been so lovely, I decided to give it a shot.  The weeds are very discouraging, to say the least.  Things really need cutting back and I was only able to spend about a half an hour out there, but it's a start. 

 

Of all of the places on Earth that I'm happiest, my garden is definately one.  I really do gather stregnth and peace there.  It's really mundane and redundant work, but there is a tranquility to be gotten from it and a sense of connectedness to life and living that is hard to match.   It's one of the better things about life.  I think humans have always felt that way and appreciated connecting to the world around them this way.  It teaches us to appreciate the delicate beauty of things and about the infinite variety we find in life in this world. 

 

So today I'm in my garden, resting and rediscovering that there is still good in this world if I  look beyond the weeds that obstruct the view of the plants underneath.  Thankfully, they are still growing, and with some help, patience and persistance will be flourishing again soon.   As I'm on the downhill side of the treatment, I think it's a good place for me to be.  Life began in a garden a long time ago.  Maybe I'll remember mine beginning again there soon.
